Ippeizuka Inarijinja Hatsuumasai

The traditional Ippeizuka Inari shrine’s “first horse festival” has endured for over 300 years since the Edo period.
This is a local festival to pray for abundant crops and flourishing business.

*2017’s first day of the horsewill be Wednesday, March 8th.

People not only come from within the Tochigi prefecture, but many visitors from all over Tokyo, Saitama and Gunma come with numbers in the tens of thousands, making the atmo-sphere very lively. It’s said that those who eat the famous food here, the Shinko Manju, go on to live a healthy life.
